Samse reports sales of 1.89 billion euros for the year to December 31, 2023, down 1.2% (-1.6% on a comparable basis), which 'takes into account inflation that is still positive in 2023, even though it is tending to ease sharply towards the end of the year'.

Sales in the trading sector fell by 2.1% (-2.6% on a comparable basis) to 1.48 billion, while sales in the DIY sector rose by 2.4%, remaining well positioned in a declining market (-1.4%), according to the Banque de France.

The outlook for 2024 is fairly pessimistic for the new housing market, but remains rather positive for the DIY and renovation market", notes Samse, which intends to pursue the geographic expansion of its distribution network.
