Tokai Rubber Industries Ltd. announced that its northern Indian plant for anti-vibration rubbers for automobiles has started operations. The factory is slated to begin mass production in November. The new plant, located in the Nimurana industrial park, some 120 kilometers southwest from the city center of the Indian capital of New Delhi, will supply anti-vibration rubber to automobile factories in northern India.

The company, based in Komaki, Aichi Prefecture, central Japan, spent about INR 800 million on the plant, which is run by subsidiary Tokai Rubber Auto-Parts India Private Ltd. Tokai Rubber hopes that the plant will generate sales of INR 700 million in fiscal 2015. It is Tokai Rubber's second Indian plant for anti-vibration rubber for automobiles. The first factory was launched near Bangalore, southern India, in January 2012.
