The purpose of this agreement is to further promote the development of a disposal system that considers waste as a resource to make effective use of limited resources and to reduce environmental impact, and to establish a disaster waste disposal system in Saitama Prefecture in normal times to prepare for the occurrence of disasters and to build a safe and secure community through resource recycling.

Matters to be addressed by the three parties in this Agreement are mainly as follows.

  1. Matters relating to the recycling of waste
  2. Matters relating to the disposal of disaster waste
  3. Other matters relating to the formation of a recycling-oriented society and the revitalization of local communities

Taiheiyo Cement has been promoting recycling by accepting waste and byproducts for cement production. We are working to contribute to the early recovery of the affected areas by applying this technology to the disposal of disaster waste.

Taiheiyo Cement has also concluded similar agreements with the prefectures of Mie (2015), Oita (2016), Iwate (2017), Miyagi (2019) and Hokkaido (2020). This agreement with Saitama prefecture follows the conclusion of a tripartite agreement with Saitama prefecture and Kumagaya City in 2021. This means that Taiheiyo Cement have signed agreements with all local governments where our plants are located.

Taiheiyo Cement will continue to strive to develop a sustainable society by offering environmentally friendly products and building a resource-recycling society.
