Tauron started the construction of solar panel farm in the northwestern Poland, with a total capacity of 90 MW and an expected date of first electricity flow in 2025. The farm, located in the region of Postomino, will be connected to the existing wind farm in Marszewo and that it will be the company's first cable pooling project. It will consist of 135,000 panels, with a capacity of 665 Wp each.

Apart from Postomino farm, Tauron is building another two: in the region of Proszowek with a capacity of 55 MW and the second stage of the farm in Myslowice with a capacity of approximately 60 MW. By 2030 Tauron wants green energy sources, including wind farms and solar panels, to account for 65% of its total power generation. The company needs to replace most of its coal-burning power plants with renewable sources of energy in the coming years in order to adjust to European Union climate policies and secure future financing.
