Notice on Submission of Application for Pre-operational Confirmation of

Shimane Nuclear Power Station Unit 2

On 30 August, 2023, Chugoku Electric received the approval from the Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA) for a

construction plan of Shimane Nuclear Power Station Unit 2.

Following this, we today submitted an application for pre-operational confirmation*2, including a process of an

operator's pre-operational inspection*1, to the NRA for the restart of commercial operation of Shimane Unit 2.

We will continue to take all possible measures to ensure the safety construction work, as well as to respond

appropriately to the pre-operational confirmation conducted by the NRA, with the aim to create the power

station that provides peace of mind to everyone in the local community.

This matter will have no impact on our financial results for the year ending March 31, 2024.

*1 The inspection is carried out by the operator to check that the construction work is proceeding in

accordance with the approved contents (materials, dimensions, functions, performance, etc.) of the

construction plan. Some contents of the inspection have started in advance since March 2023.

In the process of an operator's pre-operational inspection of Shimane Unit 2, the processes related to

the restart are scheduled as follows.

June, 2024: Start of fuel loading

August, 2024: Reactor start-up

August, 2024: Generator parallel (restart)

September, 2024: Commercial operation resumes

*2 The confirmation is mede by the Nuclear Regulation Authority to check that the operator's pre-

operational inspections is properly conducted and completed. This is done by witnessing the operator's

inspection and by confirming records.
