Notice on Conducting the Survey and Investigation for the Construction of

Interim Storage Facilities for Used Fuel at the Kaminoseki Site

In response to a request to investigate measures to promote the region from the mayor of Kaminoseki-cho,

Chugoku Electric has decided to proceed with investigation for the construction of interim storage facilities for

used fuel (hereinafter, "interim storage facilities") within property owned by the Company in Kaminoseki-cho

Oaza Nagashima, and on August 2, 2023, sent a response to the mayor of Kaminoseki-cho indicating our intent

to perform a survey for confirming if interim storage facilities can be located within the site as well as for

acquiring the data necessary for investigating a plan. (This matter was disclosed in " Notice on the Survey and

Investigation for the Construction of Interim Storage Facilities for Used Fuel at the Kaminoseki Site," on

August 2, 2023. Hereinafter, "this matter")

With regard to this matter, the mayor of Kaminoseki-cho informed us of the acceptance of our performing a

survey and investigation on August 18, 2023. Together with the notice of acceptance, we received requests

that safety precautions be taken and that information be provided to town residents.

Based on the requests we receive, we will proceed with the investigation and study, giving full consideration to

environmental preservation and putting safety first.

Furthermore, we will carefully provide information to town residents, etc., based on their requests.
