(Alliance News) - Thruvision Group PLC on Monday said that its WalkThru system has completed an operational test by the National Safe Skies Alliance Inc at San Diego International airport.

Thruvision is an Abingdon, England-based people-screening technology provider, while Safe Skies is a non-profit organisation which tests security systems' capabilities under active airport operational conditions. It is funded by the Federal Aviation Administration.

WalkThru, which is Thruvision's security screening technology for airports, has completed a test by the Safe Skies Alliance, marking "a further important validation" of the technology, Thruvision said.

"Our technology is ideally placed to help US airports meet TSA's Aviation Worker Screening National Amendment," said Chief Executive Colin Evans.

"It is mobile, allowing rapid redeployment, and can be used either as a standalone security capability, or to supplement existing equipment that airports may already be using."

Thruvision Group shares were flat at 18.10 pence each in London on Monday morning.
