TV2U International Limited announced the full commercial launch of SOL GO, the direct-to-consumer OTT streaming service delivered in partnership with Brazilian telecoms provider SOL Telecom. A successful soft launch of the service took place last week as TV2U and SOL Telecom worked together to ensure the platform was fully operational, in tandem with promotional efforts to raise awareness of the new service. It is now widely available to consumers in Brazil. Once the platform has bedded in, and after a subscriber base has been established, it is expected SOL Telecom will then roll out the service to other LATAM countries. Consumers can access SOL GO through its dedicated Android, iOS, smart TV and other connected device applications, and any web browser. SOL Telecom is monetising the service through a mixture of AVOD and SVOD/TVOD content. As such, payment gateways have been integrated and are live. TV2U and SOL will roll out the accompanying ad solution that will be used to deliver targeted, relevant ads to consumers in due course. Under the terms of the agreement, SOL Telecom will continue to run targeted local marketing and promotions, in addition to a media campaign, to drive customers to the new platform. As the agreement includes a technology license, SOL GO will also be offered as a white labelled, managed OTT platform to SOL Telecom's internet service provider customers. SOL GO currently features a mix of local, regional and international FTA and premium video. The content library is expected to grow quickly via SOL Telecom's licensing arrangements that are under negotiation and TV2U's existing agreements with content owners and rights holders around the world. Several added content agreements are close to being finalised. TV2U will update the market as these launch on the service. TV2U's revenue under the commercial agreement with SOL Telecom is USD $2.40 per active subscriber per month. TV2U is advised that SOL Telecom is targeting up to 225,000 total subscribers within the first year of operation. Revenues from AVOD and other targeted advertising will be in addition to base subscription fees charged by SOL Telecom to its customers.
