Viel & Cie has announced strong business growth for 2023, with sales of almost 1.08 billion euros, up 8.9% at current exchange rates and 12.1% at constant exchange rates.
"The context of rising interest rates and central banks' normalization of monetary policy in an inflationary environment has been favorable to all the Group's activities", it explains.
Fourth-quarter sales for the parent company of Compagnie Financière Tradition and Bourse Direct rose by 10.5% to 272.7 million euros at current exchange rates, and by 14.9% at constant exchange rates.

Viel & Cie is an investment company specializing in acquiring long-term shares in companies operating in the finance sector. Net sales break down by sector of activity as follows:
- professional intermediation (95.2%; Compagnie Financière Tradition): intermediation in interest and exchange products (monetary products, interest and exchange rate derivatives, credit derivatives, exchange options), in securities and security derivatives (stocks, stock and index derivatives, bonds, etc.), and in the raw material and energy markets (precious metals, coal, oil, electricity, natural gas, paper pulp);
- online brokerage (4.8%; Bourse Direct).
The group also holds a 40% share in SwissLife Banque Privée.
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Europe/Middle East/Africa (46.2%), Americas (29.8%) and Asia/Pacific (24%).
