xReality Group Limited announced that Freak Entertainment has opened its fifth venue on Cavill Avenue in Surfers Paradise. Freak Entertainment venues provide immersive multiplayer virtual reality games and escape rooms. Freak is a wholly owned subsidiary of XRG which is included in the company's entertainment portfolio. The new Surfers Paradise venue is located in the Paradise Centre.

Located on the south side of Cavill Avenue, the centre extends from the beachfront through to Surfers Paradise Boulevard. The centre is undergoing a transformational redevelopment, with a central focus on dining and entertainment. FREAK Surfers Paradise is located on level 1, 50m from the beach.

Surrounding tenants include Timezone, Zone Bowling, El Camino Mexican Cantina, and Maniax Axe throwing. All tenants include new fitouts inline with the redevelopment of the centre. FREAK Surfers Paradise is a 195m2 venue that includes two of FREAK's free roam Arena's, VR Escape Rooms, FREAK Drive racing simulators, and a VR arcade.

The venue is the first fully wireless and untethered FREAK, removing the need for backpack computers which enables an improved customer experience, provides access to a broader audience demographic and increases customer throughput. The cutting-edge VR technology is being delivered by HP and HTC Vive whom FREAK has established strategic partnerships with over the last 3 years. FREAK's existing Gold Coast site, co-located inside iFLY Gold Coast, continues operations and will create efficiencies with staffing, sales and marketing.

The new Cavill Avenue location will also create cross promotional opportunities for iFLY Gold Coast.
