YIT Corporation enters into design partnerships in order to improve the quality, cost efficiency and carbon footprint of its operations. With the partnership model, in addition to cost and emission savings, YIT aims for a deeper cooperation model, promoting digitalization, improving the quality of planning and shortening the project turnaround time. The objective is to reach these goals by utilizing the already established design partnerships even more closely.

Through the partnerships learning from one project to another becomes more effective and the productized solutions can be developed and implemented with more ease. As industrial construction becomes more prevalent, process-like activities are emphasized instead of individual project implementations. As a result, learnings can be gained from previous projects and digital information is refined between process steps.

Design partnerships are already utilized in other industries, whereas in the construction industry the operating method has so far been less common. In the first phase, the following design offices have been chosen as YIT's design partners comprehensively representing the architectural, structural, and building engineering design disciplines: Arco Architecture Company Oy, Arkkitehtipalvelu Oy, Granlund Oy, Sitowise Oy and Sweco Finland Oy. The partnerships cover all YIT's business segments operating in Finland, which are Housing, Business Premises and Infrastructure.
