Fuji Film Holdings : Digital cameras FUJIFILM X-Pro1, FUJIFILM X-S1 and online printing service "Fujifilm Fotoservice Pro" win the TIPA Awards.

FUJIFILM Corporation (President and CEO: Shigetaka Komori) is delighted to announce that company has won three awards from the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA)*1, widely recognized as the most coveted photo and imaging awards worldwide. Fujifilm's premium interchangeable lens camera "FUJIFILM X-Pro1", premium long-zoom digital camera "FUJIFILM X-S1" and the professional online printing service in Germany, "Fujifilm Fotoservice Pro" have been selected for the prestigious awards of the Year 2012 in the following categories.

"FUJIFILM X-Pro1" is a premium interchangeable lens camera, developed with thorough dedication to delivering premium image quality and elegant texture. It has won the award in recognition of its "Hybrid Multi Viewfinder", which allows users to freely switch between the optical viewfinder (OVF) and electronic viewfinder (EVF), and automatically selects the OVF magnification and frame size according to the focal length of the attached lens (for wide-angle and standard focal lengths). The recognition is also given to the 16.3-megapixel APS-C "X-Trans CMOS Sensor", which uses a color filter array with enhanced aperiodicity to control moire and false color generation without requiring a low-pass filter, thereby achieving very high image quality.

"FUJIFILM X-S1" is a long-zoom digital camera that covers a wide focal range from super-macro with the minimum working distance of 1cm to super-telephoto, without having to change lenses. It has won the award in recognition of its capability to achieve premium image quality throughout its focal range from wide at 24mm to super-telephoto at 624mm*2due to the combination of Fujinon 26x optical manual zoom lens (with Intelligent Digital Zoom capability) and the 2/3-inch 12 megapixel EXR CMOS sensor. The award also recognized other features such as its manual operations that evoke the joy of photography, the in-camera RAW processing function and the full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) movie recording function.

"Fujifilm Fotoservice Pro" is a professional online printing service, offered by FUJIFILM Imaging Germany GmbH only in Germany. The proprietary image processing software allows users to fine-tune image colors and gradations in a much wider gamut than available at other online printing services, and place an order for lab output to obtain prints, photo books, calendars and canvas prints*3with faithful color reproduction. The award recognized the service specifications that meet the needs of color-conscious professionals, and its consistent workflow from image editing to print ordering.
