TOKYO, April 12 (Reuters) - Japan's Fujifilm will invest $1.2 billion to expand its North Carolina plant as part of its plans to expand biopharmaceutical contract manufacturing businesses in the United States and Europe, the company said on Thursday.

The investment will generate an additional 680 jobs at the unit Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies' facility in Holly Springs, North Carolina by 2031, the company said in a statement. (Reporting by Kantaro Komiya; Editing by Chris Reese)
