As benefits increasingly move from employer-paid to employee-paid, The Hartford expanded its benefits education platform to help consumers understand their options and make informed decisions. Leveraging several years of proprietary research, the employee benefits provider now offers an interactive experience using decision-tree logic that helps consumers choose and finalize benefits purchases.

“As a leading voluntary carrier, we believe it’s critical to provide innovative educational resources to consumers,” said Mike Concannon, executive vice president of The Hartford’s Group Benefits business. “Our research shows individuals value personalized support as they choose their benefits. Our new digital experience makes the selection process easier, with validation every step of the way.”

The Hartford’s interactive MyTomorrow® platform walks consumers through specific benefit options provided by their employer and makes suggestions about coverage amounts based on their answers to questions. At the end of the experience, they receive a synopsis of the online conversation and a detailed summary of their benefit choices, which can be printed or emailed for later use. The educational program is supported by additional resources, including new light-hearted videos.

Last fall the insurer expanded its voluntary suite with critical illness and accident insurance. The insurer’s Employee Choice Benefitssm suite includes flexible plan options for life, short- and long-term disability, accidental death & dismemberment insurance, and DisabilityFLEX.®

“The Hartford is committed to providing best-in-class voluntary products and services to the 12 million working Americans whose lives and incomes we protect. These new educational resources will help us reach even more consumers this enrollment season,” said Concannon.
