BURLINGTON, Mass., - August 6, 2013 - Nuance Communications, Inc., a leading provider of speech and imaging solutions, today announced Equitrac Office™ , Equitrac Express™ and eCopy® ShareScan® are now available to run as embedded applications on A4-class multi-function printers (MFPs) from Ricoh Americas Corporation.

The announcement marks the availability of an industry leading, print-and-scan solution with embedded support for compact and affordable A4 MFPs, with the newest releases of Ricoh Print & Copy Control™ (PCC) 4.2 for Equitrac Office and Equitrac Express and eCopy ShareScan 5.1. The Nuance software enables enterprises to have a common print and scan management platform for mixed-fleet environments, including A3 and A4 MFPs, utilizing the same user interface and benefiting from centralized deployment and management.

The new release includes improvements to Nuance's market-leading OmniPage OCR technology for faster, more accurate conversion of documents from paper to digital. Paper can be converted with the highest level of accuracy into fully formatted Microsoft Word and Excel documents, as well as searchable PDF files.

Equitrac Office and Equitrac Express print management software provides organizations with control over output activity. By enforcing duplex printing rules, the software can often reduce total print volume in an organization by nearly 50 percent in the first year.
