Zavarovalnica Triglav supports prevention projects nationwide through its traditional New Year 'For a Better Tomorrow' campaign. It devotes particular attention to road safety and to pedestrians, who are the most vulnerable road users. As part of this year's campaign, the insurer's regional office in Celje therefore decided to support the construction of a pavement in the Zdraviliški trg area, which will bring the part of Rogaška Slatina most visited by tourists closer to the rest of the town.

For the fourth year running, Zavarovalnica Triglav have redirected a portion of funds to support for a range of prevention projects. Improving road safety for pedestrians in Rogaška Slatina, which also sees a lot of visitors because of its proximity to a number of spa complexes, is one of more than 20 projects supported by the company this year. 'Triglav's mission is to create a safer future. Road safety, particularly when it comes to pedestrians, is an absolutely crucial part of our efforts, which is why we are delighted to support the safety improvements to another part of the Rogaška Slatina,' said Alenka Novak, director of the Celje Regional Office of Zavarovalnica Triglav.

Not only safety but sustainability as well

The new pavement in the Zdraviliški trg area, whose construction is planned by the spring, will bring the part of Rogaška Slatina most visited by tourists closer to the rest of the town and help to establish a sustainable transport system. This is only one of the projects through which the Municipality of Rogaška Slatina aims to improve quality of life. 'We are trying, through various projects, to ensure the highest possible level of road safety for all road users in our municipality. One such project is the complete renovation of the local road on Zdraviliški trg in the town centre. We are therefore delighted that Zavarovalnica Triglav have included us in the wide and varied set of projects they are supporting as part of this year's 'For A Better Tomorrow' prevention campaign, which shows that they believe in social responsibility,' said Branko Kidrič, Rogaška Slatina's mayor, upon the symbolic handover of the funds.

Fourth year of the 'For a Better Tomorrow' campaign

The 'For A Better Tomorrow' New Year prevention campaign is already in its fourth year. Over the last three years, Triglav's campaign has supported more than 70 prevention projects throughout the country, with a further 20 or so receiving support this year. In recent years, the company have helped numerous firefighting associations around Slovenia, co-financed the purchase of defibrillators and various other complex medical devices, and supported a large number of other projects in the fields of healthcare, civil protection, child development and safety, flood protection and road safety.

Slovenia's biggest insurer devotes a fair amount of its attention to road safety in particular; for example, Celje Regional Office decided to earmark funds as part of last year's New Year prevention campaign to the installation of three speed displays in the municipalities of Žalec and Šentjur.
