Visa Inc. (NYSE:V) signed a definitive agreement to acquire Pismo Soluções Tecnologicas Ltda. from Headline, SoftBank Latin America Fund, managed by SoftBank Investment Advisers (UK) Limited, Amazon.com, Inc. (NasdaqGS:AMZN), Redpoint eventures Gestão de Recursos e Consultoria Ltda., Accel Partners and others for $1 billion on June 28, 2023. As per the transaction, Pismo will retain its current management team. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions and is expected to close by the end of 2023.

With the transaction complete, the combination of Visa and Pismo will provide clients with core banking and card-issuer processing capabilities across all product types via cloud native APIs. Pismo?s platform will also enable Visa to provide support and connectivity for emerging payment schemes and RTP networks for financial institution clients. Pismo will retain its current management team led by Ricardo Josua.
