Johnan Academic Preparatory Institute, Inc. (JASDAQ:4720) agreed to acquire Shufunotomo Littleland Co., Ltd. from SHUFUNOTOMO Co., Ltd on December 26, 2018. As per the terms, Johnan Academic will acquire 200 shares. Post acquisition, Shufunotomo Littleland will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Johnan Academic Preparatory Institute. For fiscal year ended March, 2018, Shufunotomo Littleland reported total assets of ¥133.2 million ,net assets of ¥44.5 million, revenue of ¥158 million, net loss of ¥7.7 million and operating loss of ¥4.3 million. The transaction has been resolved by the Board of Directors of Johnan Academic Preparatory and expected to be completed on January 11, 2019.
JOHNAN ACADEMIC PREPARATORY INSTITUTE, INC. is a Japan-based company primarily involved in the educational business and sports business. The Company operates in two business segments. The Education segment is engaged in operation of private preparatory schools for the graduates and students of high schools, and individual education instruction classrooms, schoolhouses of image lessons, infant education classrooms, English classes for children, as well as Tokyo certified day care center. Through its subsidiaries, it also operates swimming clubs and sports gems.
