Konishi Co., Ltd. (TSE:4956) announces a share repurchase program. Under the program, the company will repurchase 3,000,000 shares, representing 8.47% of its share capital for ¥5,000 million. The purpose of the program is to return profits to shareholders and improve capital efficiency.
The repurchased shares will be cancelled. As of May 31, 2022, the company had 35,408,639 shares in issue (excluding treasury stock) and 5,298,801 shares in treasury. The plan will run until March 29, 2024.
KONISHI CO., LTD. is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the manufacture and sale of synthetic adhesives and sealants used mainly in the civil engineering construction field. The Company operates through three business segments. The Bond segment is involved in the manufacture and sale of industrial adhesives, general household adhesives, building adhesives, detached sealants, wall covering adhesives, waxes and adhesive tapes. The Civil Engineering segment is involved in the manufacture and sale of adhesives, repair materials and sealing materials used in civil engineering construction work, as well as the repair and reinforcement work in the infrastructure and stock markets. The Chemical Products segment is involved in the sale of industrial chemicals, synthetic resins, resin molded products, electronic component materials and thin film materials.
