Net losses before Zakat for the second quarter 2018 have decreased over the second quarter 2017 by SAR 1,953,000 (60.24%) mainly due to reduction in doubtful debt expense by SAR 4,584,000; increase in investments returns for policyholders' and shareholders' operations together by SAR 131,000 offset by; decrease in net underwriting result by SAR 933,000 due to higher net claim incurred; and increase in general and administrative expenses by SAR 1,829,000. For the six months, the company reported net loss before Zakat of SAR 16,876,000 compared to SAR 10,110,000 reported in the same period last year. Gross written premiums (GWP) were SAR 126,349,000 against SAR 191,303,000 reported last year. Net written premiums (NWP) were SAR 91,914,000 against SAR 150,777,000 reported last year. Net profit of policy holders investment were SAR 1,665,000 compared SAR 781,000 a year ago. Net profit of shareholders capital investment was SAR 2,255,000 against SAR 2,762,000 reported last year. Loss per share was SAR 0.94 against SAR 0.56 reported last year. Net losses before Zakat for the period ended 2018 have increased over the same period 2017 by SAR 6,766,000 (66.92%) mainly due to decrease in net underwriting result by SAR 14,480,000 due to higher net claim incurred, offset by reduction in doubtful debt expense by SAR 7,302,000; and increase in investments returns for policyholders' and shareholders' operations together by SAR 377,000.
