(Alliance News) - PPHE Hotel Group Ltd on Thursday it has appointed a new co-chief-executive to serve alongside Boris Ivesha, effective immediately.

The London-based hotel and resort operator named Greg Hegarty as co-CEO, having been with the company for 18 years in various leadership positions.

Hegarty was appointed as chief operating officer in 2019, before becoming deputy CEO & COO in 2020. He was then made an executive director and joined the board in May last year.

PPHE Hotel Group said Hegarty will also continue to be responsible for the group's ongoing "proactive engagement" with shareholders, while Ivesha will continue to focus on pursuing growth and development opportunities, including concept creation.

"Greg's appointment to co-CEO provides important additional leadership support for the group, as we deliver the latest phase of our exciting growth trajectory. His appointment is in keeping with the group's longstanding emphasis on promoting internal talent and intra-group mobility, and we are very proud of his progression since joining PPHE," Co-CEO Ivesha said.

"With his breadth of experience and knowledge, Greg has made a vital contribution to the company's success over the last decade, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with him in his new role."

Incoming Co-CEO Hegarty commented: "PPHE is in a very exciting phase of growth, building on its strong footprint of Park Plaza hotels while also completing and opening several large pipeline projects across capital cities including London, Belgrade, Berlin, Rome, and across different market segments and brands including art'otel and Radisson RED.
