PT Star Pacific Tbk (Lippo Group) is teaming up with Mitsubishi Corporation (TSE:8058), to build a large residential development on the outskirts of Jakarta. Lippo's separately listed property development unit, Lippo Cikarang, announced that it will establish a joint venture with Mitsubishi to build condominium towers in a new township that will eventually be home to around 72,000 people. In an interview with the Nikkei Asian Review the same day, Mochtar Riady, Chairman and Founder of Lippo Group, described the company's relationship with Mitsubishi and raised the possibility of the expanding partnership to other infrastructure projects in Indonesia, a country he said was "still empty," and full of opportunities.
