Timberland Bancorp, Inc. are deeply saddened to announce that the Chairman of the Board Jon C. Parker passed away, after a lengthy illness, on June 18, 2023. Mr. Parker was the majority shareholder/owner of the law firm of Parker & Parker P.S., Hoquiam, Washington, which has served as general counsel to the Company and the Bank. Mr. Parker became a director of the Bank in 1992 and the Company upon its formation in 1997 and subsequently became Chairman of the Board of both entities in 2009.
Mr. Parkerâs legal skills and understanding of the complexities of the banking industry were of enormous value to the Company and the Bank during his tenure as outside counsel and his roles as Director and Chairman of the Board. He will be greatly missed.
Timberland Bancorp, Inc. is a holding company for Timberland Bank (the Bank). The Bank is a community-oriented bank, which offers a variety of savings products to its retail and business customers while concentrating its lending activities on real estate secured loans. Its lending activities are focused primarily on the origination of loans secured by real estate, including residential construction loans, one-to-four-family residential loans, multi-family loans and commercial real estate loans. The Bank also originates commercial business loans and other consumer loans. It offers personal checking, savings accounts, timberland financial services, health savings accounts, online banking, cash management and remote deposit, ACH transactions, merchant services, and others.
