HGL Limited (ASX:HNG) is planning to file a bid for the acquisition of Kombinat Aluminijuma Podgorica A.D. (KAP), Podgorica-based media reported. The official offer will be handed in as soon as KAP's court-appointed administrator announces a public call for the sale of the smelter, news portal Analitika reported, quoting unnamed sources familiar with the matter. HGL, which has been in talks with the Montenegrin government for a year now, has initially offered to take over KAP with 580 workers and to invest €700 million over a period of five years.

According to earlier media reports, Tlm-Tvp D.O.O. and Vedanta Resources plc (LSE:VED) have also shown interest in KAP.
