Uniprom Reportedly Signs Deal To Acquire KAP Assets

Uniprom Pekara d.o.o. has reportedly signed a deal to acquire assets from Kombinat Aluminijuma Podgorica A.D. (KAP). Local media reported that Uniprom has signed a deal to buy the assets of KAP for €28 million. Veselin Perisic reported that Uniprom will pay the full price for KAP within 30 days.

It added that Perisic could not immediately be reached for comment. The report also indicated quoting Uniprom's owner, Veselin Pejovic as saying that Uniprom will keep 300 of KAP's 720 workers.

Kombinat Aluminijuma ad Podgorica u stecaju is a Montenegro-based company engaged in the production of aluminum. The Company is consisted of such elements as: the Alumina Refinery, which produces floury alumina and has a capacity of 280,000 metric tons a year; the Aluminum Plant, which consists of a Carbon Plant, Smelter, Casthouse, and Secondary Smelter; the Carbon Plant, which produces 65,000 metric tons of anodes each year; the Smelter consists of two pot lines, each containing 264 pots; the Casthouse, which has three T-ingot lines, one standard ingot line, and a capacity of 115,000 tons each year, and the Secondary Smelter, which recovers scrap aluminum and dross from the Casthouse.
