Kombinat's Assets Up For Sale

The assets of Kombinat Aluminijuma Podgorica A.D. have been put up for sale by its bankruptcy managers. The managers invited bids on December 6, 2013, for the submitting the offer for the assets of Kombinat Aluminijuma. In a statement, the bankruptcy management set the total value of assets and land offered for sale at €54.5 million, but said buyers could also bid for just part of what was on offer.

The deadline for submitting offers is January 8, 2014, and the bids will be opened on January 10, 2014. The statement said, "If multiple bidders submit equal highest offers, a well-known bidder from the mining and metallurgical sector ... (with) the best plan for KAP's ...

future development, higher revenues and readiness to take over the workforce, will be favoured."

Kombinat Aluminijuma ad Podgorica u stecaju is a Montenegro-based company engaged in the production of aluminum. The Company is consisted of such elements as: the Alumina Refinery, which produces floury alumina and has a capacity of 280,000 metric tons a year; the Aluminum Plant, which consists of a Carbon Plant, Smelter, Casthouse, and Secondary Smelter; the Carbon Plant, which produces 65,000 metric tons of anodes each year; the Smelter consists of two pot lines, each containing 264 pots; the Casthouse, which has three T-ingot lines, one standard ingot line, and a capacity of 115,000 tons each year, and the Secondary Smelter, which recovers scrap aluminum and dross from the Casthouse.
