WPG Resources Ltd. announced encouraging gold assays from the top fan of drill holes in its phase 2 drilling program in Challenger Deeps announced on 22 September 2017. These holes were designed to target the M2 lode at the 115mRL, which is one level or 20m below the lowest production level at Challenger. This fan of drill holes also passes into the Challenger Deeps mining lease (ML6457), which was granted to allow continued mining of the Challenger Deeps lodes down plunge. Intercepts on the M2 lode are: 17CUD2194: 1.14m (true width) @ 34.93g/t Au from 16.81m downhole. 17CUD2196: 0.85m (true width) @ 5.10g/t Au from 22.00m and 0.75m (true width) @ 7.21g/t Au from 74.49m. 17CUD2197: 0.23m (true width)@ 33.44g/t Au from 83.00m downhole. 17CUD2198: 0.58m (true width) @ 7.18g/t Au from 53.68m and 0.76m (true width) @ 9.21g/t Au from 55.97m and 0.61m @ 7.07g/t Au from 94.81m downhole. 17CUD2199: 0.85m (true width) @ 7.16g/t Au from 105.00m downhole. The results of this drilling program to date indicate that the mineralization throughout the M2 lode is distributed on numerous fold limbs as previously observed in upper levels of the M2 lode at Challenger. The intersections observed to-date are very similar to those seen in levels above the shear where multiple folds were successfully mined at grades in excess of 5g/t.
