WPG Resources Ltd. announced that superb assays have been returned from the latest Near Pit Reverse Circulation drilling conducted during June 2018 on the Tarcoola Mining Lease. The assay results received for these holes range from <0.005 to 58.40 g/t gold and are the finest to date outside the Perseverance Pit completed by WPG. Two east-west drill lines and one north-south line were completed around a patch of significant historical workings, around 1km east of the Perseverance Pit, where there was previously only one effective historical drill hole testing the conglomerate-granite contact. The holes tested the Banded Iron Formation (part of the Peela conglomerate) and granite contact on the south side of the workings, as well as interpreted structures in the granite below. A superb intersection of 22m at 6.75g/t Au was returned, which included 6m at 21.52 g/t Au between two zones of sericite altered granite. The fact that there is a large halo of low grade material around the main high-grade zone and the distance between the furthest two significant intersections is over 70m supports a potentially substantial body of mineralisation to exploit. This is a previously untested zone between the main diorite intrusion and the Tarcoola Blocks. North-South structures that could be fluid conduits for the blocks were interpreted from the ground magnetics and were tested with two east-west drill lines. The northern line tested the N-S structures in granite adjacent diorite and an intersection of 1m at 21.41g/t from 30m was returned within sericite altered granite. This was followed up with a further 5 holes and was interpreted to be related to diorite contact mineralisation. None of the data reported on herein has been used for resource or reserve estimation. Further drilling is planned to follow up these intersections, particularly at Old Flame. Previous drilling on the Mining Lease at Wondergraph has led to a prompt resource estimation, pit optimisation and regulatory approvals, which means that any economic discovery could be fast-tracked to production. The intent of this drilling is to increase current gold resources for the operation. The geological understanding of the Prospects on the Mining Lease has been greatly enhanced by the increasing pit exposure and every new drill hole is providing valuable information to assist targeting.
